had potential

but you didn't live up to it. the trancey free flow synth ruined it at the start and i immediately went ugh. but i listened through hoping for something to rip my ears out but it just never delivered. kinda went a bit gay with the piano and stuff, maybe too housey and trancey for me.

CKEY

very nice bro

looking forward to the return of our dnb and this track in its fullness. what was it made on? PM me i'd like to ask you some questions about compositions

gave you a 5 so hopefully it gets back on the top list LOL

top track

maddest sampler out.. still

i hope no one "spits" on it

it was great

tips: finish it

the best

need i say more

it's not bad, better than ultima legion

do what a itold you with the 2 leads and it wont be as muffled, also get rid of the snare.

do what i told you with the snare as well but get rid of the snare you used all together, the kick drums db is too high and needs its frequency altered, as you can hear it is just a bang over the top of the song, sidechain the kick so when it hits the leads db lowers and you'll get a more epic sounding drum. the initial lead at roughly 26 seconds is nice i like it, but notice the snare is drowned out? that's because the frequency of the lead and snare and kick is too close together. changing the frequency of the lead will alter it a little bit so i advise sidehcaining the lead and changing the frequency of the snare and kick

:)

sounds good. I think I am beginning to understand how things work a bit better now. I will do these things and upload a revised version once I make the changes. Thanks for reviewing this!

yeah it is missing something

tell me what operating system and core program you used and i'll pm you with some tips one how to fill the background

LJCoffee responds:

heh-heh... Since when would my DAW affect what's needed? :D *grin...

OK then... basic overview of system and workflow:
I'm running Vista
The psuedo-orchestraic part was made with Reason4
That can be found here: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/157758
"-=LJC=- untitled sub 0708" - the .RNS for that is posted up if you're at all interested, the URL is in the description.

I was planning on dropping Reason altogether and re-creating the background using Kontakt but I just haven't gotten to it yet. Kontakt, imo, has a much better sample set and can be far more expressive than the R4 stock orkester library. No contest really... I was just lazy... didn't feel like tweaking midi all that much so....

Everything from Reason was dumped out and loaded into AcidPro to sequence things and chop the percussion into it.

Again, the percussion should probably be swapped out as well. I'm not crazy about the kits used in the breaks but as with the rest - I was lazy about it. :) Would be easy enough to replace though.

Originally, there was a super dirty reese and a sub-bass (Patched together with Massive and Zebra2 respectively) in there but I felt that it was just a bit heavy so I stripped all of that out. Like I mentioned to the last reviewer, I think I should have removed the reese but left the sub - that's probably where I over-corrected things.

The whole thing is then fed through Reaktor 5's FlatBlaster 2 which is loaded as a VST effect on the master buss in Acid and dumped out as a .WAV

I generally use Audition for any final mastering tweaks and MP3 conversion.

Any suggestions at all though, will be appreciated.

Cheers mate

not bad

not sure if it's original though. hit me up in a PM with a midi of the track for proof, other than that i like it. improve quality
